ABOUT Circle Y Ranch was originally founded in Forney, Texas, by J. Lee Youngblood before relocating to its current 400-acre site outside Aubrey, Texas in 1980. Located 15 miles northeast of Denton in the heart of "Horse Country, USA", this beautiful rural community is less than an hour from DFW airport. Penny Youngblood took the reins in 1996 and has steadily grown and improved the training and breeding program. In 2005, Penny acquired Bets Smart Lena by Smart Little Lena x Bet Yer Blue Boons. In 2010, she bought another young stallion, Shining Cat by Shining Spark x Cattilion. Since 2004, we have sponsored the Circle Y Derby at the NRCHA World Championship Show. To date, close to $1 million in prize money has been awarded to contestants in this derby. In 2012, she bought Im Countin Checks.
